A trek through Taehangno ("University Street"). Korea's principal Confucian shrine, the old campus of Seoul National University (Korea's Oxford or Harvard), and the original Sungkyunkwan Academy form the backdrop for a discussion of Korea's Confucian ethical traditions, too often misunderstood in the West. Bring food for an international picnic and join us for Armistice/Remembrance Day.  The venue is Korea's National Cemetery, final resting place for two presidents, a prime minister and cabinet ministers killed in the famous Burma bombing, 161,999 Koreans who died defending their country--and one Canadian. Please dress modestly.

Meet at gate 1, Tongjak subway station, number 31 on the Blue line, at 2 P.M. Some uphill walking.
